Form of Government

Moreno Valley has two public school districts: Moreno Valley Unified School District has 23 Elementary Schools, 6 Middle Schools, 4 Comprehensive High Schools, 1 Charter School, 1 AdultSchool, 1 Continuation School, 1 Community Day School, 1 Pre-School and 1 Academic Center; 37,001students enrolled. Val Verde Unified School District (includes Perris, Mead Valley and MorenoValley) has 1 Pre-school, 12 Elementary Schools, 3 Middle Schools and 3 High Schools, 1 ContinuationSchool, with a total of 17,624 students enrolled. MorenoValley is also home to one of the RiversideCommunity College campuses with 7,000 students enrolled.
Job Creation
Employment is on the rise in MorenoValley. In addition to a notable surge in service employment, jobs are increasing in other industries. A second Home Depot (at Perris and Iris), Serta Mattress, Ross Dress for Less Distribution Center, El Dorado Stone, Masonite International, Lowe’s Home ImprovementWarehouse, Lowe’s Home Improvement Distribution Center, Circuit City, Walgreens Distribution Center, Riverside County Waste Management Administrative Office, Porvene Doors, Thor California, Wal-Mart, DHL, Philips Electronics, and the Social Security Administration are among the new and expanding businesses in Moreno Valley. Collectively, they account for well over 2,000 new jobs in the City. There is increasing interest in MorenoValley on the part of manufacturing, distribution and commercial businesses.
